Manufacturing of Purified Talc IP / BP / USP

We, at Avani Group of Industries have over 35 years of Talc Powder manufacturing experience under our belt. We have also gone on to setup a distinguished manufacturing unit licensed specifically for Talc I.P. / B.P. / U.S.P. – APJ Industries Pvt. Ltd.

Raw Materials

First and foremost, at APJ Industries Pvt. Ltd., we purchase only the highest grade of Talc lumps. After purchase, we perform a second round of dressing and sorting on these lumps. This helps to segregate away even the smallest of impurities from these lumps which might have been left behind by the miners.

Grinding & Milling

Following that, we put the lumps through a Jaw Crusher which breaks down the material into coarse gravel. Thereafter, we feed the gravel into a high speed Hammer Mill, which pulverises it into fine powder. Our mill is equipped with a customization ready classifier, which ensures that the desired fineness is achieved.

Once the powdered Talc comes out of the mill, we sieve it through a stainless steel Vibro-Screen. It removes larger particles and prevents contamination by foreign particles. After that, the material moves through a Screw Conveyor directly into a cleanroom, fitted with a high functioning HVAC. Then, the material passes through a magnetic roll separator. Subsequently, we pack the powder in double layered laminated HDPE bags and weigh exactly as per requirement.

Even after all these processes, the job of converting regular Talc Powder into Purified Talc is not over. Infact, at APJ Industries Pvt. Ltd., we go a step further and sterilize this packed material in our fully automatic ETO Sterilizer. This eliminates any microbial growth present in the material as well as prevents future growth of the same.

Quality Control for Purified Talc IP / BP / USP

In order to substantiate our claim for highest purity and safety, APJ Industries Pvt. Ltd. has a fully equipped state-of-the-art laboratory for in-house sampling and testing.

Firstly, there are separate sections for instrument testing, chemical testing and microbiology testing. In particular, the mirobology section is maintained as an ISO Class 5 clean room.

Secondly, we employ only qualified and board certified chemists/microbiologists to carry out the analytical testing. Hence, we rigorously perform all analytical tests as per the monographs of Talc IP, Talc BP and Talc USP.

Furthermore, an important part of our Quality Management System (QMS) is In-Process Quality Control (IPQC). Under our IPQC principles, we collect and test samples throughout the shift while the production is underway. Altogether, we test each batch/lot again after completion of all the steps in the manufacturing process. Consequently, we prepare a unique certificate of analysis for every batch, and this CoA is available to customers on demand.
